I’m a creative, with interests and diversions aplenty – still in search of my “medium.” A Graphic Designer by trade (and schooling); DIY Homeowner by necessity; aspiring woodworker, chef and traveler by nature – I’m also a jungle gym and improvisationist by the sheer will (and for the total amusement) of my daughter.
In previous ‘lives’ I’ve been a cross-country runner, a judoka, a fencer and various degrees of vegetarian (going on 10 years).
I’ve followed my muse at one time or another with pens and pencils, paints, brushes, camera, mixed and multi-media, hand and power tools. In recent years I’ve been exploring the worlds of fine cooking and fine woodworking (and fine blogging) in mostly equal portions. I find the computer provides a nice yin to the yang of the woodshop (or yang to the yin), and as for the food…. well… everything centers around food!
My wife and I seem to have planned most of our vacations around new (and favorite) restaurants we’d like to try, near home and away. Since our honeymoon in Napa Valley, we’ve enjoyed visiting wineries (and making a day of it) whenever we get the chance.
Currently I’m spending time in the kitchen trying to broaden the culinary horizons of our little girl (3), and I’m trying to get back into running (knees willing) – one way I can arguably buck the whole ‘low carb’ trend that isn’t going away fast enough!

Hi
Wanted to make sure you saw this…
I came across this website video piece and PDF recipe, which I was intrigued by. I tried the recipe and was very happy with the result. Comfort food doesn’t get much better than this.
